This is a fictional story about a logger and railroad worker, who lived near Bonner’s Ferry Idaho building the great railroads of the early 20th-century America.  Train Dreams has been nominated for 4 Academy Awards and was shot mostly in Washington, with much of it in Eastern WA.  Many local folks from the Spokane and Tekoa area were included as extras in the making of this movie.  This film has had a limited release, and we are excited to bring it to our theater!

Some filming locations include Historic Empire Theater in Tekoa, Spokane (St. Michael Mission Church in West Spokane, the Davenport Hotel, and the Spokesman Review Building), Colville, Chattaroy, Medical Lake, Snoqualmie and more.

Based on Denis Johnson's beloved novella, Train Dreams is the moving portrait of Robert Grainier, a logger and railroad worker who leads a life of unexpected depth and beauty in the rapidly-changing America of the early 20th Century.
